Based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, we are an architectural practice working across a broad spectrum of projects, from private residences, commercial and hospitality spaces to healthcare and welfare facilities, renovations, and urban and regional planning.
By carefully reading the character of a site, its natural context, and the culture embedded in the region, we pursue architecture that arises with a sense of inevitability.
Rather than relying on unnecessary decoration, we seek to create spaces that are functional, comfortable, and enduring. Through architecture, we aspire to connect people to society, nature, and the future, while bringing a quiet richness to everyday life.

Founder & Principal
小西 彦仁
1964年、北海道広尾町生まれ。一級建築士。1986年に北海道東海大学芸術工学部建築学科を卒業後、東京の石井和紘建築研究所、鈴木エドワード建築設計事務所に勤務し、住宅から大規模建築まで幅広い建築実務を経験する。1996年、札幌に有限会社ヒココニシ設計事務所を設立。2016年、事務所創立20周年を機に、ヒココニシアーキテクチュア株式会社へ社名を変更した。北海学園大学、室蘭工業大学、北海道工業大学、東海大学の非常勤講師を歴任。現在は国内外のクライアントとともに、住宅をはじめ、医療施設や商業施設など多様な建築・空間設計に取り組み、北海道を拠点に「メイド・イン・ジャパン」の建築価値の向上を目指している。2020年から2026年まで公益社団法人日本建築家協会の副会長および北海道支部長を務め、2026年より同協会北海道支部顧問。日本建築家協会（JIA）、日本建築学会（AIJ）会員。
Hikohito Konishi
Hikohito Konishi was born in Hiroo, Hokkaido, in 1964. A licensed first-class architect in Japan, he graduated in 1986 from the Department of Architecture, School of Art and Technology, Hokkaido Tokai University. He subsequently moved to Tokyo, where he worked at Kazuhiro Ishii Architect and Associates and Edward Suzuki Associates, gaining ten years of professional experience on architectural projects of various types and scales. In 1996, he established Hikohito Konishi Architect and Associates Co., Ltd. in Sapporo. In 2016, marking the firm’s 20th anniversary, the practice was renamed HIKOKONISHI ARCHITECTURE INC.
He has served as an adjunct lecturer at Hokkai-Gakuen University, Muroran Institute of Technology, Hokkaido Institute of Technology, and Tokai University. Today, he works with clients in Japan and abroad on a wide range of projects, from private residences to healthcare and commercial facilities. Based in Hokkaido, he is committed to enhancing the value of “Made in Japan” architecture.
From 2020 to 2026, he served as Vice President of The Japan Institute of Architects (JIA) and President of its Hokkaido Chapter. Since 2026, he has served as Advisor to the Hokkaido Chapter. He is a member of The Japan Institute of Architects (JIA) and the Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ).
