Shimura Dental Clinic

Located beside the Toyohira River, which flows through Sapporo, Shimura Dental Clinic was planned as a gateway-like presence at the entrance to the city. The exterior abstractly expresses the image of the river’s clear flowing water, layering together multiple movements and histories — the clinic’s own history, urban traffic, and the flow of the river itself. Perforated folded metal panels softly filter light while carefully controlling privacy within the interior spaces.
