A large void at the center of the house creates a continuous relationship between the garden and interior, bringing abundant natural light deep into the living spaces. Deep projecting eaves carefully control seasonal sunlight throughout Hokkaido’s changing climate, supporting a comfortable indoor environment. While maintaining a strong sense of openness, the design also carefully adjusts surrounding sightlines to create a calm and private residence.
