Located in Niseko, Hokkaido, TAKI was designed as a private holiday villa that blends naturally into snow and forest. Built on a sloping site surrounded by trees and heavy snowfall, the architecture responds directly to the land and climate. The entrance and garage are embedded within the terrain, while the living space opens toward the landscape through large framed windows. Constructed in reinforced concrete to withstand heavy snow, the structure also frames nature itself. Named “TAKI,” meaning waterfall in Japanese, the residence expresses the relationship between architecture and nature.
